Bot Policies
General legal guidance for Artifact-operated bots, automation tools, and Discord utilities.
Artifact may use bots and automated systems to support onboarding, moderation workflows, role management, staff review, safety processes, and community utilities.
Why this page exists.
Artifact bots are part of the community’s infrastructure. They help organize server workflows, support staff actions, and make certain community processes easier to manage.
This page provides the general bot policy overview. Individual bots may also have their own terms and privacy pages when their function needs more specific explanation.
What Artifact bots may do.
Different bots may perform different functions. Not every bot does every item listed here.
Onboarding
Bots may help new members enter the community, receive instructions, answer entry questions, or move through staff review.
Roles and access
Bots may assign, remove, update, or organize Discord roles and access permissions based on staff actions, member choices, or server rules.
Logs and records
Bots may create staff-facing logs for moderation, onboarding, reports, appeals, role changes, errors, or other server activity.
Messages and commands
Bots may respond to commands, button clicks, reactions, forms, direct messages, or other interactions submitted to the bot.
Community utilities
Bots may provide convenience features, staff tools, automation helpers, notifications, reminders, or server-management functions.
Safety support
Bots may help staff receive reports, organize review queues, apply access decisions, or support safety workflows.
Bot-specific policies.
Each bot may have its own additional terms and privacy page when its workflow needs a more detailed explanation.
Important note.
Bot systems support Artifact operations, but they do not replace Artifact staff judgment.
Bot actions may be reviewed, changed, reversed, escalated, or manually handled by authorized Artifact staff. Bot use is also governed by Artifact’s main Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, community policies, and any bot-specific terms or privacy notices.
