Discord and third-party services.
Artifact operates primarily through Discord. Discord independently processes information under its own policies, including its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Messages, files, profile information, direct messages, server activity, and other content sent through Discord may be processed and stored by Discord under those policies.
Artifact may also use third-party providers for website hosting, security, email delivery, contact forms, file storage, payment platforms, social platforms, or other services needed to operate Artifact. Those providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.
Artifact is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of Discord, payment providers, portfolio sites, social platforms, linked websites, artists, commissioners, or other third parties.
Who may access or receive information.
Artifact does not sell personal information. Access is intended to be limited to people and services that reasonably need information for Artifact’s operations, safety, support, technical administration, or legal obligations.
- Authorized Artifact staff: for moderation, safety, reports, appeals, technical administration, and community operations.
- Service providers: where needed to host, secure, maintain, deliver, or troubleshoot Artifact services.
- Discord: because Artifact’s community and certain tools operate through Discord.
- Other members: only where you choose to post or share information publicly or in shared community channels.
- Safety, legal, or platform reporting: where reasonably necessary to address abuse, fraud, threats, legal obligations, safety concerns, or violations of Discord policy.
Artifact does not permit staff to access private reports, application information, verification-related records, or moderation records for personal curiosity, retaliation, harassment, public callouts, or unrelated purposes.
Cookies and similar technology.
Artifact’s website may use cookies, browser storage, security tools, or similar technology to operate properly, remember preferences, protect against abuse, maintain website security, and understand basic website performance.
Artifact does not use cookies or similar technology to sell personal information or create advertising profiles for third parties.
You can often manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies or browser storage may affect website functionality, security features, preferences, or embedded content.
Additional cookie information is available in Artifact’s Cookie Policy.
Retention and deletion.
Artifact aims to keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including community operations, support, moderation, safety, appeals, dispute handling, scam prevention, legal obligations, or protection against abuse and ban evasion.
The retention period may vary depending on the information and its purpose. For example, a simple support request may be retained for a shorter period than a serious safety report, active appeal, scam report, or enforcement record.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information under Artifact’s control by contacting [email protected]. Artifact may need to verify your identity or Discord account before acting on a request.
Artifact may retain or limit deletion of certain records where reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, enforcement, legal compliance, active disputes, platform reporting, protection of others, or other lawful operational reasons.
Your privacy requests.
You may contact Artifact to request access to information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of applicable information under Artifact’s control.
To help us locate the correct records, include your current Discord username, Discord user ID if available, the approximate date of the relevant interaction, and a clear description of the request. Do not send passwords, authentication codes, or unnecessary government identification.
Artifact may ask you to confirm control of the relevant account before sharing, changing, or deleting information. This helps protect people from unauthorized requests.
Security.
Artifact uses reasonable administrative, technical, and access-control measures intended to protect information from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, loss, or alteration. These may include permission controls, limited staff access, role-based Discord access, secure website practices, and operational review procedures.
No website, online service, Discord server, or communication platform can guarantee absolute security. You should avoid sharing unnecessary sensitive information and contact Artifact promptly if you believe your information has been mishandled.
Minors and restricted spaces.
Artifact operates through Discord and follows Discord’s applicable age requirements, platform rules, and regional requirements. Artifact is not intended for children under the minimum age required to use Discord in their region.
Artifact may maintain separate youth-safety, adult-content, and age-restricted access policies. Those policies may limit access to certain channels, activities, marketplace features, or content independently of this Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy.
Artifact may update this Privacy Policy when our website, community systems, tools, legal obligations, or operational practices change.
When this page changes, Artifact will revise the effective date at the top. Material updates may also be shared through Artifact’s Discord community, website, or other appropriate community channels.
